Fashion Compared to the Runway

The runway fashions that you see here are not practical to the real world of business. These models not only are small sizes and wear clothes that make them look smaller but these clothes are alot like the clothing you see on
celebrities these days. The women who work in the business field look at
these women and see that they are not wearing practical clothing for the
office atmosphere. This can relate to all types of clothing with the fact that
designers make clothing more for celebrites then anyone else because they
are the only ones who can wear it. I believe that women have to live up to
the latest look not only in normal clothing but now in stylish business clothing that the designers have made for the runway. To me all business
clothing should look fashionable but not go over the top with the way the
clothing is made for the runway.

Trends for Spring 2010 and Summer 2010 For the Business World

Countries dont always get the same business trends at the same time. As for Canada example their for 2010 in the business world will be more like a New Yorks Look. for men it will be exaggerates shoulders, slim jeans with a big fold and worn with loafers. For women its indian colors with contempoary cuts, high waists pants and suits, jump suits, single shoulders, mid length and as well as dark greys. Spring Summer 2010 we’ll see bandage dresses, shirt dresses, one-shoulder dresses will remain till Summer 2010 with shorter helm lines. Kaftans will make a comeback ... and the colours — sand, turquoise, soft pink, yellow, indigo, rosy pink, lime green. And for the men ... faded washes, chambray shirts, chalk stripes, in indigo, blue, burnt red, grey, chocolate brown and neon colours.

Tips For the Business Fashion World

There are some basic tips in the fashion business world. These will help someone who has been out of the work force for some time or elses someone who has never had exposure to the real business world. An example of this would be a mom who has been on maturnity leave for a year or a student who has just finished a business degree or diploma. When you come out of school or you havn't been working for a while the way you dress will most likley not be appopriate for a professional business (although you may want to educate yourself on what your employer considers appropriate or not appropriate)
Here are some types:
-Know what colors are in fashion this season by either checking out t.v. or fashion magazines
-try to incorporate some bright colors into your outfit
-if you are not into bright colors you can try to layer a bright color underneath so that you have an outline
-denim goes with almost anythin
-always own a black skirt, it can go with anything
-layering is very effective when your outfit seems to plain
-Remeber nothing to short or too low cut, you are after all trying to be professional

Follow the above tips and you should be set for your new profession!!

shoes, shoes, shoes.

shoes may just be on your feet but they can often be what brings an outfit together. they should not be ignored. for women you mostly see sleek high heels or dressy flats. and for men the common shoe of choice in black or brown dress shoes which if you haven't noticed tend to always be rather well polished. people say that you can judge someone based on they're shoes and the business world is no exception. it is not common to see someone dressed up in an office wearing running shoes on they're feet. shoes should also be professional and simple.

cost?

The cost of a professtional dress can be rather expensive if you shop in higher end designer shops like Holt Renfrew. but it is possible to find a business wardrobe for less. places like dynamite, smart set, or ricki's. these are all places that have professional looking clothes for much less then designer prices at tops starting at $20.00. it doesn't have to cost you to be a fashionable business person. shoes are another item that can become slightly costly. but it is possible to find shoes that are comfortable as well as professional at low costs. just because you work in a high end office does not mean you have to pay high end prices for your wardrobe.

common "rules"

Business fashion is all about being conservative. In order to keep in line with this and not feel that you look boring, it is possible to substitute bold or bright colors, designer labels (if thats what you desire), and remarkable shoes. these things with help to make you feel in control of your look while still looking professional. clothing such as short shorts and mini skirts are not acceptable. Conservative means longer skirts (knee length), properly covering shirts, not low cut or exposing. also shirts must be longer, not showing any stomache. business fashion is not about looking sexy and showing skin. its about looking professional and put together.

The Change in Mens Fashion To more Like Womens

This blog is about women’s fashion but I thought I would mention that men’s fashion is changing to be more like women’s. I think that men’s fashion is starting to become more like womens because guys are not sticking to just blacks and grays, there getting out there with colors such as pinks and purples.  Men’s fashion are wearing generally plush Armani suit or diamond studded cuff-links, and adding  a fancy tie to it. But now this boring trend seems to be heading for a lively change. Colors, always thought to be the woman’s preserve, are spilling over into the world of men’s fashion.  But modern day men's suits are sometimes seen as too stuffy. A somewhat relaxed work fashion is now acceptable, but this trend has not been able to displace the suit from its place in a man's work wardrobe.  As women as well have there casual days  for them but still have there more fancy outfits.

Fashion for Women in the International Business World

I have been checking out different web sites to see about fashion in the international business world. I think it is very important to know how to dress when you go to different countries where they have different cultures. I think the way you dress could make or break a business deal. For men the way the dress around the world is pretty much the same no matter where you go, but for women what is proper and not can very from culture to culture. For example what you wear here to work and what you wear to work in Russia are quite different. The women in Russia are still quite a bit more conservative then they are here. According to what I was able to find on the Russian businees world, business people pay more attention and spend more time on what they wear then any where else in the world. As you can see above the way women dress in China or other Asian cultures may very depending on the work and the occassion. I will post more about other cultures as I find information.

Picture on Womens Business Clothing

This picture shows a common women's outfit for the business atmosphere. The top being a very classy one that is dressy enough for business meeting and also to meet the client. Most women would have many of these tops in different colors because its a easy way to insure that you have many outfits for the week. With tops for women they need to make sure there not to low or there boss and also there clients may think there very comfortable with showing to much or may just feel they are being rude. The pants are common as well with them being black makes them very dressy as well shows that the woman cares about her appearance in the business. Dress pants can come in many styles with them being black, navy, gray, and also striped. This gives women a variety for choices to wear. The accessories are very simple and pretty and just bring a little spark to the outfit and don't over power it. The bag being more like a purse is common but you will see women with laptop cases and briefcase's as well that are much like the ones that men use. I believe that women have a lot harder time with finding things to dress them self's to look professional then men do because they have to make sure that they don't overly dress and don't wear shirts that are to revealing. Men have it easy with suits and ties and simple shirts. What do you ladies think about the difference between the dress for men and women in the business world?

the business womans fashion

I have been going through pictures of business people and researching on what is acceptable to wear in a business atmosphere. Business fashion does not have any set trends. There are articles of clothing that can be seen as "acceptable" for many years. Skirt suits or pant suits are considered the most professional look for women. Dresses may be seen as professional if matched with a jacket otherwise they do not set the same kind of professionalism as that of a good suit. Though having a skirt that is too short may cause people to view you as unappropriate. Accessories are not something that is over done in the professional atmosphere. You don't want to appear to over the top. The more professional a woman can appear the more likely she is to be taken seriouly, sadly. Business is a lot about first impressions, people tend to trust a person with a more appropirate appearance.

Good!

All right--this is a start.
